Im new to this and just purchased one myself. Im amazed at the lack of publicity. There are no publications out that I can find. Ive even tried finding others on myspace. I will use mine to get back and forth to work. I agree there are some drawbacks but the pros far out way the cons.

My son went bonkers when he rode his friends motorized bike and talked his mom into helping him get one. He is 17 and has to buy his own gas for the car. When he heard that you could get up to 150 miles a gallon it was his. He rides it to soccer pratice and to visit friends and to work. I took it for a spin myself and was very surprised at the speed and power with me weighing 280 lbs. I peddaled to get up the hills faster and it did just fine. No reqrets with this purchase.

They don't get too hot on your legs. Grubee kits running lithium grease in the gear box only get warm. Your invited for a ride. Once you ride you'll be back

There are plenty of non-Chinese made engine kits available if you look around. They are a tad more expensive though.

Personally, I ride a motorized bicycle, and I ride one of the funky Chinese made ones that I got for under $200.

Here are some reasons I wouldn't ride it:

1. Dirty - Oil and gas get everywhere and the thing smells bad.
2. Noisy - Some engines can be quite annoying.
3. Scary - Going 30mph in the bike lane is a little nuts.
4. Limited - You can't go on the freeway. There are also laws against them in some areas.
5. You have to put it together yourself and it is not always an easy install.
6. Lack of knowledge - not everyone knows that you can go pick up an engine kit and get nearly 100mpg for less tahn $300.

However, the reasons FOR riding one are overwhelming. Just take a look at the thousands of happy members we have on our <a href="Motorized">http://www.motoredbikes.com">Motorized Bicycle Forum.

I agree with the quality of the nuts and bolts for this reason I replace most when a bike is put together. I would buy American if there was one. My evential goal is to make the complete setups here in the USA. The 4-stroke engine is of good quality because it is a copy of the Honda engine. Now when we speak of the 2-strokes they are completly Chinese. I am looking for investors to manufacture in the USA.
